Abtech can provide an additional service to its customers by providing a SAN health check service. Abtech is able to complete an onsite check of your SAN infrastructure and remotely analyse the logs from our R&D and repair facility based in Wiltshire.

Why Perform a SAN Health Check?

In today’s modern IT infrastructures it is important for organisations to ensure that they maximise uptime, resilience and performance of their IT infrastructure. An Abtech SAN Health Check will provide you with a document illustrating a snapshot of your current SAN infrastructure along with recommendations on ways to reduce Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).  With the data gathered from the SAN Health Check,  Abtech can help you plan to optimize the SAN for resilience in compliance with best practice.

It will also be possible to identify any immediate issue that could cause outages thus allowing you to put measures in place to prevent costly downtime.

 

 

What does it cover?

Abtech can provide its SAN Health Check service in both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments as we are aware that your SAN is organic and grows as your needs do. We support all the major SAN vendors such as EMC, HP, Dell, IBM & NetApp and utilising over 25 years’ experience of the SAN industry can apply the same process to some of the lesser known manufacturers too.

Abtech UK will visually inspect the equipment to check for any fault indicators, check the unit and the cabling, then provide the log files to Abtech UK’s analytics facility for detailed analysis.

The Abtech SAN Health Check will provide a user with an inventory of Devices, Switches, Firmware revisions and Connectivity within the Fabric. The service is a basic health check and will utilise the existing SAN software.

Abtech can also provide a similar Health Check for data storage and backup technology. Please ask your account manager for further information.

 

 

Time frames for the service

The service can be provided as a standalone service or commissioned on an estate handover.

Abtech can provide the service as a regular scheduled check if required.  The onsite element is provided between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Abtech aims to have the completed heath check document back to you within one working week.
